I remember a sign on permanent display in Comet Records on Washington Street that read 'No, we do not have Ball And Chain in stock' . People who otherwise did not buy records were always coming into the shop looking for 'Ball and Chain'. Interesting how a record could become a local hit on the basis of club play in pre-internet times. Would not happen now.
